We are very glad to announce our upcoming live appearance on Rockwave Festival 2009, in Terra Vibe, on the 29 th of June!
The band will open the third day of the legendary festival, playing on the Vibe Stage, along with Inactive Messiah, Voivod and W.A.S.P.,
whereas on the same day, on the Terra Stage the bands that will appear are Lauren Harris, Arch Enemy, Monster Magnet and Motley Crue (i.e. the Cruefest bill).

Just to mention also that on the following day Terra Vibe will accommodate God.Fear.None, Eden Demise, Lita Ford, Saxon, Torche, Kylesa, Down, Mastodon and Slipknot!
Needless to say, we are all thrilled and we are preparing ourselves for a top performance…

Here we are again, back with some important news, in more than one fields! First of all the band will play live at the ‘Greek Gods Festival', (day 2)
organized by Rock Hard magazine for the first time this summer. The venue is known to everybody that has seen us playing before, and it's Texas Necropolis
at Themistokleous and Gamveta. The date is the 12 th of June (Friday). The band will play just under the headliners (Anorimoi) in a quite versatile bill,
that consists of The Silent Rage, X-Piral, Trendy Hooligans, Heathendom, Scar Of The Sun and the above mentioned Anorimoi.
We will hit the stage at 22:40 and our set will last 35 minutes. We encourage you to come early and see all the bands, as there will be a multidimensional music approach
through the night, so you might find more bands interested and get into their music. So see you all on Friday the 12 th , and stay tuned!

The band just completed the filming for their first music video ( for the track ‘Swansong Of Senses') with Achilleas Gatsopoulos (Pet Shop Boys, Dark Tranquillity, SIC,
Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, Harry Potter 3 etc) and Bob Katsionis (Lauren Harris, Nightrage, Firewind, Rotting Christ etc) undertaking co-direction duties.
The finished video will be released very soon! The footage was amazing, the editing gave us a great result
and we are currently waiting for Achilleas to put the finishing touches on the post production process.

As I imagined from the time that I saw them playing live, Scar Of The Sun are ready to make it big time.
The listening session of the album confirms that indisputably.
Extremely good compositions, unbelievable production and guest appearances that many bands would envy!
You will understand that too when you'll listen to the album of the band.
This is one of the most interesting albums I have listened to from a Greek band lately.

THE INTERVIEW - read now

As many of you know already, our debut album (entitled ‘A Series Of Unfortunate Concurrencies') has been completed for quite some time now,
but still remains unreleased. The band is currently in negotiations with a number of record labels that expressed interest so far,
and we are working towards the best possible deal for us.

Despite the big production, the whole album concept and the numerous guest appearances, the situation in the music industry right now is really difficult.
The current economic crisis was added to the illegal downloading problem, so the times are really hard, especially for a new band that is looking to secure a decent record deal.
In that context, we need to see our options in detail and get the best we can in order to be able to promote our work properly, covering all the aspects that are necessary for any band
(reviews, interviews, international live activity, etc). As a result, it may take some more time to take the final decision, but that's how it works in these cases.

We'll keep you posted regarding any developments in that aspect, as well as regarding any forthcoming live activity.
It's been a while since we played live, so we are looking into this matter too, and soon we'll be in position to say more about that.

In other news, Metal Hammer Greece hosted an interview with the band's lead singer Terry in the January issue, regarding the album and its whole production.

After almost four years of having the same profile layout up, we decided that we need a drastic change in order to be in step with our times.
For that reason Achilleas Gatsopoulos collaborated with Stathis Ridis of Amaze Me Design and the result of that can be seen on our new page,
which in a way coincides with the general progress of the band, regarding the completion of the album, and the forthcoming release of our debut CD.

Needless to mention, the band is extremely pleased with the final outcome and we feel the need to express our gratitude to Stathis and Achilleas for their outstanding work.

We are happy to announce that the mastering of our album is now complete.
Upon completion of the artwork, the band will start contacting record labels in order to release Scar Of The Sun's debut album!

The album will be called 'A Series Of Unfortunate Concurrencies' ; it will contain 10 tracks (approximately 56 minutes of music ),
and it was co-produced and mixed by Rhys Fulber (Paradise Lost, Fear Factory, Waltari, Motley Crue, Megadeth, Machine Head, Mudvayne,
Roadrunner All-stars, Nailbomb, P.O.D., Alice Cooper, Yes, Avril Lavigne, Front Line Assembly, Delerium, Conjure One, Sarah Brightman, etc)
and mastered by Greg Reely (Paradise Lost, Strapping Young Lad, Theatre Of Tragedy, Fear Factory, Machine Head, The Tea Party, Coldplay,
Frontline Assembly, Delerium, Conjure One, Sarah McLachlan, Mediaeval Baebes, etc.).

We are all thrilled with the final result, and we would like to thank Rhys and Greg for all their effort and patience,
and for giving us the opportunity to enjoy such a wonderful outcome!

Four songs are now uploaded on our page including 3 new ones
(Swansong Of Senses, Ode To A Failure – featuring Dark Tranquillity's Mikael Stanne , and Gravity),
and one from our first 3 track promo (Burn The Memory), but in its new and final version.

Also, the new artwork is nearing completion by the band's drummer Achilleas, who has worked in the past with various bands like Dark Tranquillity,
Pet Shop Boys, SIC, etc, as well as worked on film sets like 'Charlie And The Chocolate Factory', 'Harry Potter III', etc.

The look of our page will be revamped with the new artwork. We will also add some pictures from our first live appearance,
at Texas ' Summer Festival, at the Underworld club, on the 12th of July, so stay tuned,

SCAR OF THE SUN ALBUM MIX COMPLETED, MASTERING NEWS & LIVE DEBUT

It's been a while since the last update, and although it may have seemed that things were quiet in the SOTS camp, this is far from the case.
First of all, Rhys Fulber finished mixing the album three weeks ago and both the band and Rhys are completely satisfied with the result.

After Rhys' personal recommendation, Greg Reely is currently handling the mastering process.
Greg has worked with many international artists such as Strapping Young Lad, Mediaeval Baebes,
Coldplay etc. and he also did the mixing and mastering on the latest Theatre Of Tragedy album 'Storm'.

Rhys and Greg are responsible for Paradise Lost's Symbol Of Life, one of the landmark albums in terms of production in its genre.
The two of them have been working together for many years now and with many well known artists such as Fear Factory, Frontline Assembly, Delerium,
Conjure One, Sarah McLachlan, The Tea Party and of course, Paradise Lost , so we couldn't have found a more suitable mastering engineer for our album.

In other news, the band will make their debut live appearance on the 12 th of July, in Underworld Club, Athens.
The band is taking part in the "Texas Summer Festival 2008" atmospheric metal day alongside Earth Of Distrust, Elysion and Universe 217.
We are all excited about this gig and we are preparing for the show intensively, as our aim is to present a completely professional performance.

Finally, both our MySpace profile and our official website ( www.scarofthesun.com ) will be revamped soon.
A brand new graphic interface as well as new tracks , samples and extras will be uploaded.

Scar Of The Sun are happy to announce the completion of their line-up with the addition of guitarist Chris Veleris (www.myspace.com/chrisveleris).
The band has been in contact with Chris for quite some time now, and he and Alexi were the first choices since the beginning.

In other news, we are about to complete the pre-production of the first album. Following that, the recordings will begin.
The plan is to complete that stage by the end of November, and the next step will be mixing the tracks and putting the final touches.
The album is scheduled to be ready at the beginning of 2008.

We'll be back soon to announce the title of the album and the full tracklist, as well as more details regarding the production and mixing of the album.

Scar Of The Sun have been looking to complete the band's line up f or quite some time now, ideally consisting of 5 members.
Lesser, the group's original guitarist, decided to contribute only on the sound engineering aspect of the band, something that was respected.
Consequently, the band has been looking for two guitarists.

Today we are happy to officially announce Alexi as the newest member of the band and the first addition to our Guitar duo.
Alex is also an active and founding member of Enoxes Skepseis.

We are also in touch with one more guitarist who due to some personal reasons will be available in a couple of months.
The band will then discuss and jam with him, and if both parts are satisfied and in agreement, the line up will be completed.

Scar Of The Sun are currently pre-producing the material for their first full length album.
Upon completion of the arrangements, the band will commence the actual recordings straight away.

We are happy to announce that as of today we have a bassist on board.
Achilleas' brother, aka Mormol, joined us in our current line up.
He's an active member of greek metal band "Disharmony"

Scar Of The Sun hit the Radio!

SOTS's Terry was a special guest of "Talk Of The Town" Radio Show on Athens
International Radio 104.4FM yesterday morning , where he presented the band's
work and was interviewed regarding the band's influences, lyrics etc.
All 3 tracks were aired.

"Talk of the Town" is a daily English-language programme broadcasting every weekday
morning on Athens International Radio 104.4FM, the City of Athens' multilingual radio station.
The show is presented by journalist Alexia Amvrazi, who regularly hosts a
plethora of personalities from all walks of life who make a dynamic impact in Greece.

The CD is printed / duplicated at last! It looks and sounds great. We will be sending a few around now
for reviews, which we will post here. If any are left we might put them out for sale. More to follow.
The Music section is updated with the final mix of "Disposable"

The 3 track promo is finally mastered! We are currently looking into various CD duplication services.
It will be available later on in January/February. Finally, having come up with lots of ideas and material
in the past months, we have started to work them out into solid arrangements. More soon.
